Hey there ACC-tion heroes! This week, Marty and Nick do a quick pullbox episode. Nick does a review of the first episode of the new DC Universe TV Show Doom Patrol, and Marty discusses G Willow Wilson's run on Wonder Woman! So let's turn the page and talk about comics!

Just before Endgame leaves the box office, we're here to finish our in-depth review! This week, we talk about our supporting cast, who was left behind, who got dusted and things we shouldn't think too hard about (for now...)

  • Supporting Cast
  • Good use of screentime
  • Who got short-changed? Goose the Flerkin, Vision???

Overall High Points

  • What made you gasp?
  • What made you cry?
  • What made you laugh?
  • Any Misses?
  • Anything you didn’t care for?
  • Any bad stereotyping?

We’re Not Gonna Think About It Too Hard:

  • Steve’s time travel ending shouldn’t work
  • Steve may have made out with his niece
  • Thanos breaks the whole timeline by coming forward in time
  • The Ancient One specifically explains that there are no multiple realities because of the infinity stones.  This makes time travel make no sense
  • Cassie grows up 10 years in five
  • Did all of Peter Parker’s friends get dusted?
Kirby Scores!
Thanks to Steve Jacoby for editing, even though HE HADN'T SEEN THE MOVIE!

This week, Marti -- that's the fun nickname for Marty and Tim -- discuss the latest addition to the MCU, Captain Marvel. Beware, here there be spoilers!

We break down what we liked, what could have been done better, how this relates to Carol in 616, and what the future may hold for Carol, Monica, and the Avengers.

Today on All Comics Considered we’re going to do a Pullbox consisting of works by black creators!

  • Nick - Some thoughts on ethno-futurism - Spec-lit that imagines worlds that exist by different cultural values - what we think of as science-fiction is really just western-futurism - it celebrates and promotes western ideas, and often western(white) people
  • Roots - Archetypes, Story Archetype modes
  • Iconography - Representation, different symbol set
  • Pallette - cultural expressions of color

Today on All Comics Considered we’ll do a Project Runway grading of superhero costumes. Let’s make it work!

Project Runway: ACC Style (Costumes Hot or Not)

  • Marty:
    • Kris Anka
    • Hot: McKelvie Captain Marvel
    • Not: every other captain marvel costume ever
    • 37813
    • Hot:
      • God Doom
    • Unpopular opinion… red 3 piece suit with vest and whatnot. Actually, super inappropriate costume because no one wears suits like that on the West Coast. -- Tim
  • Literally from a west coast tailor -- Marty
  • Hannah
  • Nick
    • Good - Beard Captain America, WW2 Captain America, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir, Kamala Khan
    • Dated - weird chainmail wings on the head Captain America
    • Bad - Namor gets a loincloth, Azrael Batman, Black Widow’s poor spine,
    • Power Girl, (redesign didn’t take)

c’mon guys...

  • Adam Warlock

  • Bad - Spider-People: Scarlet Spider’s spandex cum torn sweatshirt. Iron Spider, and Armored Spider-Man.

  • Good - Secret Wars Black Spidey suit, Miles’s, and Spider-Gwen’s sweet hoodie costume.
  • Good - Adam Warlock’s current incarnation, I’m a sucker for a thunderbolt motif.

Bad - Basically every She-Hulk costume, in all reality.  The purple and white number was the best, but even that was jjust a one-piece bathing suit.

Today on All Comics Considered, to kick of Black History Month, Marty and Tim discuss the state of the late great Dwayne McDuffie’s Milestone/EarthM and the Shuri Series! Let’s turn the page!

Milestone and EarthM

It’s been over 3 years since the Milestone relaunch was first announced and at this point we don’t have any idea if it’s happening or not.

Timeline by Lojo

  • January 2015: Reggie Hudlin, Denys Cowan, and Derek Dingle announce the return of Milestone under the name Milestone Media 2.0.
  • July 2015: DC announces partnership with Milestone 2.0, relaunching the Dakotaverse under the name Earth M.
  • 2015-2017: We hear nothing about the relaunch, but an occasional it’s still happening.
  • May-June 2017: Michael Davis, an original co-founder of Milestone, writes two articles about how he was left out of the reboot and why he thinks Milestone 2.0 is going to fail.
  • August2017: We learn the reason that the relaunch hasn’t happened is a lawsuit between the Dwayne Mcduffie estate and Milestone 2.0. The lawsuit claims Milestone 2.0 hadn’t included McDuffie’s shares in the new company and that his estate had been excluded from all plans for the relaunch.
  • October 2017: DC and Milestone announce that Earth M will launch in Spring 2018.
  • 2018: Earth M does not launch in Spring. We later hear that it was moved to October and again nothing happens with little information given. The last we heard Bendis wanted to use Static in Young Justice, but was denied permission from Milestone.

Today on All Comics Considered, as we prep for Valentines day--we prep for valentines day?-- we’re going to delve into a comic book staple. We are speaking, of course, of the Fuckboi....

Let’s turn the page...

What is a fuckboi

  • “man whore”/Player + misogynistic ass hole = Fuckboi.

    • Not just a man who has lots of sex

    • A particular combination of douchebaggery and player mindset

    • Example

      • Tony Stark

    • Example: not a fuckboi

      • Oliver Queen

      • Clark Kent

Fuckbois to Discuss

  • Daredevil

  • Gambit

  • Human Torch

  • Bruce Wayne

  • Jason Todd

  • Lex Luthor

  • Cyclops

    • Does it count if you’re constantly cheating on your wife when your “true love” who she is a clone of comes back to life?

    • Also, Emma.

Characters we disagree on “fuckboi” status
